MedVent groups have started their registration for the 2019-2020 Scouting year. New Scouting year starts in September 2019.
MedVents is a Scouts Canada vocational program. To register into the program you must register as a Scout in the group you are interested in. The program is only in a few select areas. There is usually only one group in a given area sponsored by the local Paramedic Services.
Depending on the group, they may only offer the program to Venturer Scouts or Rover Scouts aged youths. Adult volunteers may also be accepted. Please ask the group you are interested in.
Scouts Canada is a volunteer organization. Our Scouters are all volunteers. The vocational program expects all its members to provide volunteer service as part of their training requirements. You are expected to complete both the Scouting program and the vocational program together. Please be aware that your time commitment in the program will be more than a Scouting member. MedVent members, regardless of their age, are expected to fulfill all the Scouter requirements.
Follow these steps to locate a group for you:
- Locate a MedVent group in our Groups section, Look for the city or region you live in or nearby.
- If a group says they are full, please still make an inquiry as it may be part of their registration process.
- Contact them through their social media link, website or use our Contact page to send a message to the group. Ask about their meeting location(s), membership requirements and fees
- Using your postal code or the postal code of the MedVent group location go to the Scouts Canada join page and follow the signup process.
